BoostEdge in a few words

BoostEdge is an accelerating network device uitable for every web sites and web applications. It does not equire any client part.

BoostEdge decreases the volume of the data going through the network which is equivalent to increase the bandwidth. The average compression ratio for HTML, XML, javaScript, CSS, etc. is 5. However it happens to be greater than 10 in the cases where the data are tables like those generated by financial applications.

The acceleration techniques involved by BoostEdge are far beyond a simple compression. This enables a bigger response time improvement. Dividing the response time by two is quite common. However it happens to divide the response time by 9 with Hyperion used via a VSAT connection.

Thanks to its IP transparent interception mechanism, BoostEdge can be inserted in line within less than two hours without any change neither in the network infrastructure nor the applications. The fail-over network interface card makes it possible to install BoostEdge while it is off. It then is equivalent to a simple Ethernet cross cable. This so called Plug'n Activ interception mechanism is patented.

BoostEdge is also an application aware (Layer 7) load-balancer which can be used either to support a bigger work load or to improve service continuity or both.

As a security device BoostEdge can "SSL-ize" an application, thus it transforms an HTTP application in an HTTP/S application by encrypting data using SSL or TLS.
